Our first project aimed to support people with disabilities in Sri Lanka. We organized a shoebox collection for Sambodhi Home in 2019. This is a care home that provides housing and protection to people with disabilities. We collaborated with three Dutch primary schools, where we educated 400+ children on charity and altruism. In return, they crafted beautifully decorated shoeboxes containing second-hand items. We donated a variety of items such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, toys and art supplies. Additionally, we donated art supplies to the residents of Sambodhi Home, as they make profits by selling self-made works of art. We did so in the hope of making a sustaining donation that would give them tools for a better life.
